As this chapter starts out we see Yuki leaving the family flower shop in a bad mood. After learning just a little bit about her family we find her on the phone with Tokuoka. He's in still Tokyo with Mai but promises to meet up with Yuki in two hours. Opting to not stand around, Yuki decides to take in a movie while waiting for him.
"Is the network responible for this?"
Things soon go bad. Some ways into the movie the screen blurs... very briefly the words "The World" can be seen and then... darkness. The network is down all over Yokohama. Electricity and phone services go out while fires rage. Meanwhile Mai and Tokuoka are learning of this the hard way, unable to call one another since Tokuoka is now in Yokohama. Back in the theater Yuki meets a lady who works there and they begin an attempt to escape the locked down building.
Will Yuki escape? What does "The World" have to do with this? And who is this Kyo girl that Mai, Yuki, and Tokuoka seem to know?
