This series parts ways with the manga from the very first episode and as such is not considered canon. With that said, early episodes retain the mangas humor which makes it a mostly fun and short watch.

Notes:
• In Japan this show ran on TV-Tokyo from the beginning of January until the end of March on Wednesday evenings, presumably in the same timeslot .hack//SIGN previously had.
• In the US it ran on Cartoon Network from the mid-June until the beginning of August, during Saturday mornings at 1:00 a.m. Later on it came back on the air on Saturday mornings at 5:00 a.m. for a few reruns before departing for good.
• The epilogue, which plays after episode 12's credits, was not aired on Cartoon Network.
• Legend of the Twilight Bracelet is the series full title but the bracelet part was dropped from western releases for some reason, leaving it a very incomplete and strange sounding title (imo!).
• Funimation released a DVD boxset of this series for north america in April 2015.
