While the games were in development first, SIGN takes place before them and is maybe the best place to start when getting into .hack//.

Notes:
• In Japan this show ran on TV-Tokyo from the beginning of April until the end of September on Wednesday evenings.
• In the US this show ran on Cartoon Networks "Toonami" and then "SVES" blocks from the beginning of February 2003 until the end of August 2003. The first four episodes ran in February on Saturday afternoons at 3:00 p.m.
• In March its timeslot was changed to Sunday mornings at 12:00 a.m. on Cartoon Networks "SVES" block and was restarted from the beginning. This is why there is a month long gap between episode 4 & 5's premieres.
• The US run was also interrupted once more in the second week of August due to the Cartoon Network event "Kids Next Door Weekend."
• It got one more set of re-runs in the same timeslot and even played the first 4 episodes yet again, before being taken off the air at the end of March 2004.
• Episode 15 being on dvd 6 is no typo! Since its a clip episode both the JP & US release of the series relegated it to a sort of "non-episode" status and put it on the final dvd as an extra.
• SIGN was re-released on the PSP's UMD format in Japan. The episodes included and cover art for each of these matched those of the original dvd releases there.
• Funimation released a DVD boxset of this series for north america in February 2015.
